South East Wales Regionals

City of Newport swimmers competed in the South East Wales regional championships held at NISV over the first two weekends of February. Approximately 50 swimmers from the club competed in total, with almost all recording new personal best times at some point during the meet. The club won an incredible amount of medals (far too many to list here), setting many new records in the process. Perhaps the stand out swim of the meet came from Newport’s Jonathan Eke who set a New British Senior Record in the S10 disability 1500m freestyle. Well done to all of our swimmers who took part, on their attitude and overall performance. The focus now moves to preparing for the Welsh Age group and Youth Championships which take place over Easter weekend.
