Selection criteria for high performance squads (06-07-2015)
The National Performance Squad is the Elite swimming squad within the City of Newport Integrated Swimming program. It is only open to swimmers aged 13 years and over who display the highest standards of performance, commitment and attitude to both competition and training.
The National Potential Squad is the high performance swimming squad within the City of Newport Integrated Swimming program. It is only open to swimmers aged 10-14 years who display high standards of performance, commitment and attitude to both competition and training. It is only open to swimmers who display exceptional commitment to training and competition and show the necessary attributes for progression to the National Performance squad.
The Regional Performance 2 Squad is one of the competitive development squads within the City of Newport Integrated Swimming program. It is only open to swimmers aged 13 years and over who display the good standards of performance, commitment and attitude to both competition and training.
The Regional Performance 1 Squad is one of the competitive development squads within the City of Newport Integrated Swimming program. It is only open to swimmers aged 8-13 years who display the good standards of performance, commitment and attitude to both competition and training.
The Academy 3 Squad is one of the competitive development squads within the City of Newport Integrated Swimming program. It is only open to swimmers aged 12 years and under who display good standards of performance, commitment and attitude to both competition and training.
The Academy 2B Squad is one of the competitive development squads within the City of Newport Integrated Swimming program. It is only open to swimmers who display good standards of performance, commitment and attitude to both competition and training.
The Academy 2A Squad is one of the competitive development squads within the City of Newport Integrated Swimming program. It is only open to swimmers aged 11 years and under who display good standards of performance, commitment and attitude to both competition and training.
The Academy 1B Squad is one of the competitive development squads within the City of Newport Integrated Swimming program. It is open to swimmers who have passed stage 6 of the National Teaching plan. This squad will work towards stage 7 of the National Teaching plan as well as Academy Bronze and Silver Awards.
The Academy 1A Squad is one of the competitive development squads within the City of Newport Integrated Swimming program. It is open to swimmers aged 11 years and under who have passed stage 6 of the National Teaching plan. This squad will work towards stage 7 of the National Teaching plan as well as Academy Bronze and Silver Awards.
